"Hello this is Lt. Junior Grade Ryan Comer. The day started off with an excellent breakfast in our base’s chow hall. After eating we hopped into the vehicles to drive over to the base’s harbor for a tour of the USS Kidd. Everybody had plenty of questions for the tour crew and they all learned facts about the ship that they were interested in. After the completion of our tour, the cadets gathered into the vehicles to return to our barrack’s to change into our civilian clothes and prepare for our trip to Old Town, San Diego. The cadets cruised about the streets checking out all the stores for souvenirs and other gifts for themselves and family members. Afterwards we returned to our barracks for evening chow and then to our rooms to hang out and decompress from the excitingly eventful day.”—Ryan Comer
